CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

Green and Inclusive Community Buildings

Deadline : On an ongoing basis for projects under $3 million; a second call for proposals will be launched for projects of more than $3 million An investment of $1.5 billion over five years through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program will improve the condition and availability of community buildings. This program supports the renovation, repair, and modernization of existing public community buildings, as well as the construction of new public community buildings. Municipalities and NPOs are eligible for this program. To be considered eligible, the building must belong to the applicant and be used by citizens. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for projects under $3 million (small and medium-sized renovation projects) and a second call for proposals will be launched for projects of more than $3 million (major renovations), we will keep you updated. Infrastructure Canada - Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program

 

The Canada Digital Adoption Program Determined to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) realize their full potential by adopting digital technologies, the Government of Canada has launched the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP comprises two separate funding components:

Inclusive Women Venture Capital Initiative 

Deadline: Monday, June 20th  2022

Women-owned businesses currently receive just 2.8% of venture capital (VC) funding available worldwide, and an estimated 4% of VC funding in Canada. The IWVCI is aiming to build a more inclusive VC environment for Canadian women entrepreneurs. It will support projects that help strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs to access VC funding, contribute to increasing the representation of women in the VC industry, or help ensure that the VC industry is sensitive to gender and potential unconscious bias.

Applications are open to Canadian not-for-profit organizations. Applications from organizations working in partnership are also welcome. For further details on eligibility and the application process, please see the IWVCI application guide.

 

Round 3, the Northern Access Round, of the Housing Supply Challenge Deadline  : Thursday, June 23, 2022 Round 3 of the Housing Supply Challenge is open. The government will invest up to $80M in funding for teams who put forward solutions that can improve Canada’s housing supply chain in northern and remote regions. Northern and remote areas see high costs to build and maintain housing due to high transportation costshigh investment riskslong timelines and limited access to resources and infrastructure.

 

Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative 

Deadlines : Thursday, June 23, 2022, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, and Friday, June 2, 2023

The federal government launched a call for proposals for the $450 million Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative to support investments in technology companies and life sciences and help women and racialized people access capital to grow their businesses.

 

LGBTQ2 Projects Fund

Deadline: Thursday, June 30th 2022 at 12pm (noon) Pacific Time

The federal government announced the launch of a call for proposals for community initiatives that will advance equality for LGBTQ2 people across the country. The $9.3 million fund will focus on supporting projects and organizations that address key challenges facing the LGBTQ2 community. Projects must support actions in one or more of the following areas:

 

Local Food Infrastructure Fund

Deadline: Friday, July 15th 2022 

The fourth intake of the Local Food Infrastructure Fund will take place from June 1, 2022 to July 15, 2022 and will focus on projects that either create a portion of (or expand) a food system or implement an entire food system. Projects must be infrastructure specific and be community-driven, dedicated to improving access to healthy, nutritious and local foods for Canadians at risk of food insecurity.

Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative 

There is no deadline for this funding The Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative will provide $103.8 million over 5 years to assist First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and partners, both on and off reserve, to implement Indigenous-designed projects to improve community safety and well-being. This initiative will support projects which:

Canada's first National Adaptation Strategy Deadline: Friday, July 15, 2022

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, launched a public consultation to develop Canada’s first National Adaptation Strategy, a whole-of-society blueprint for coordinated action across the country, ensuring communities and Canadians are prepared for the impacts of climate change. From building homes that can withstand higher temperatures, to embracing the power of nature to protect our communities from flooding, we’re making sure Canadians have their say as we build a clean economy that works for everyone. For more information, please see the news release.  

 

New Federal Tourism Growth Strategy

Deadline: Wednesday, July 20, 2022

The renewed Federal Tourism Growth Strategy will build on the work already done in 2019 and will focus in particular on challenges of:

- Labour shortages and instability;

- Destination development and the need to attract investment; and

- The evolving global, geopolitical and public health context.

The Government of Canada wants to hear from Canadian tourism stakeholders from coast to coast to coast as it charts the path forward for the sector. To share your views on how Canada can build on its reputation as a world-class destination, please send an email to [email protected].

 

Help Us Build a Better EI Program - Phase 2

Deadline: Friday, July 29th 2022 

The second phase of consultations explores the adequacy of EI benefits, in particular by examining whether the amount and duration of EI benefits meet the objectives of the program and the needs of those contributing to EI. It also focuses on how to ensure the financial sustainability of the EI program by balancing costs with benefits and limiting the need for premium increases. Roundtable discussions will take place with worker and employer groups, and other EI experts, beginning in mid-May. 2022 Cross-Canada Official Languages Consultation

Deadline: Wednesday, August 31st 2022

The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages, has a mandate to develop a new plan for official languages. This process will be informed by a consultation exercise running from May 24 to the end of August. The consultations target the general public, official language minority communities, advocacy organizations, provincial and territorial representatives, and federal institutions and organizations.

Responding to Oil Spills with Alternative Response Measures

Deadline : Friday, September 16, 2022

The federal government is considering legal changes to enable the safe and appropriate use of alternative response measures to address oil spills in Canada, regardless of the spill source. We want your feedback on the potential changes. 

 

Co-developing distinctions-based Indigenous health legislation The Government of Canada, in collaboration with Aboriginal partners and the provinces and territories, is developing new distinctions-based Aboriginal health legislation to facilitate access to high quality, culturally appropriate health services. Co-Development of First Nations Police Services Legislation Deadline : Will close to new input later in Spring 2022

The Government of Canada is working on improving policing and community safety services that address the specific needs of First Nations Peoples. Veterans Ombud Commendation Award

Deadline:  Thursday, June 30th 2022

The Veterans Ombudsman, in consultation with the Veterans Ombudsman's Advisory Council (VOAC), awards the Veterans Ombudsman Commendation, in recognition of the efforts of the individuals who work tirelessly on behalf of Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Call for nominations – 10th Parliamentary Poet Laureate

Deadline: Sunday, July 10th 2022

The role of the Parliamentary Poet Laureate is to promote the importance and value of poetry to Canadians. Pursuant to the Parliament of Canada Act, the Parliamentary Poet Laureate may perform the following duties: compose poetry, especially for use in Parliament on occasions of state; sponsor poetry readings; advise the Parliamentary Librarian on the Library’s collection and acquisitions to enrich the collection’s cultural holdings; and perform related duties at the request of the Speaker of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Commons, or the Parliamentary Librarian.
