CALLS FOR PROPOSALS
Healthy Canadians and Communities Fund
Deadline: Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 3pm EST
The Healthy Canadians and Communities Fund is a funding program of the Public Health Agency of Canada. It aims to prevent chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. This fund funds interventions in the area of primary prevention and focuses on priority populations facing health inequalities and who are at higher risk of developing chronic diseases. The objectives of the Fund are to invest in interventions that address health inequalities; encourage multi-sectoral participation in chronic disease prevention; and discover new ways to address the risk factors of chronic disease. The total funding amount you can request for your project under the implement phase must be between $200,000 and $3,000,000.
Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF)
Applications will be accepted starting January 6, 2023
The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time, $400 million investment to help charities and non-profits adapt and modernize. Funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund will enable charities and non-profits to invest in their own organizational capacity to:

Sport Support Program - Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities Component Streams 1 & 2
Deadline: Monday, January 9th, 2023 (Stream 1) and Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 (Stream 2)
The Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC) component of the Sport Support Program funds eligible organizations to deliver sport for social development projects in Indigenous communities in Canada. The SSDIC component offers a flexible program that can be tailored to address the self-identified social goals of individual Indigenous communities.
Canada Summer Jobs Program
Deadline: Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11:59 a.m. Pacific Standard Time
Canada Summer Jobs is a program that provides wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. Not-for-profit employers can receive funding for up to 100% of the provincial or territorial adult minimum hourly wage and all associated Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs). Public and private sector employers are eligible to receive funding for up to 50% of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/canada-summer-jobs/apply.html.
To support applicants, Service Canada Quebec region will offer 60-minute information sessions. The purpose of these information sessions is to provide general information on the 2023 CSJ program. If you wish to participate, here is what you need to know:

Documentary Heritage Communities Program Deadline: Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time The purpose of the Documentary Heritage Communities Program is to provide $ 1.5 million in funding each year to local organizations in support of Canada’s documentary heritage. The term “documentary heritage” refers to records and publications (written or audio-visual) that reflect Canada’s history. The program objectives are to help local organizations increase access to, and awareness of their holdings as well as to increase their capacity to keep and preserve Canada's documentary heritage
Call for Proposals to Address Gender-Based Violence through Promising Practices and Community-Based Research

The government launched a Call for Proposals to increase the capacity of organizations to address gender-based violence (GBV) through promising practices and community-based research. Organizations that are working to end gender-based violence can apply to one of the following streams:
Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program
Deadline : - For projects of more than $3 million : Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 3pm ET - For projects under $3 million : on an ongoing basis An investment of $1.5 billion over five years through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program will improve the condition and availability of community buildings. This program supports the renovation, repair, and modernization of existing public community buildings, as well as the construction of new public community buildings. Municipalities and NPOs are eligible for this program. To be considered eligible, the building must belong to the applicant and be used by citizens. Second call for proposals for projects of more than $3 million (deadline : Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 3pm) : Interested stakeholders are invited to attend Infrastructure Canada’s upcoming webinars to learn more about the GICB program. They will also have the opportunity to ask questions to program representatives. Interested applicants may visit the GICB website for more details and to register.
Third round of Rapid housing initiative
Projects expected to be submitted in early 2023
Canada is launching the third round of the Rapid housing initiative. The details of how this program will be implemented in Quebec have yet to be determined, however, the terms and conditions of the third round of the RHI will be similar to the terms and conditions of the second round of the RHI and applications will be channelled through the Société d'habitation du Québec. Please note that the information available on the CMHC website regarding the RHI-3 is not relevant to groups in Quebec. More details will follow.
Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI) - Medium- and heavy-duty stream
Deadline: Monday March 13, 2023
The government has launched the call for proposals for the Medium-and heavy-duty stream of The Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI). This initiative is looking to fund new and innovative projects that aim to increase knowledge, awareness, and confidence in medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission or low-emission vehicles among fleet owners, drivers and the general public. This call for proposals will support—via cost-shared contribution agreements—outreach, education, and capacity-building activities, enabling greater adoption of ZEVs and lower-carbon vehicles in the MHDV sector in all regions of the country.
Green Freight Program - Stream 1 Assess and Retrofit
Deadline: Applications will be accepted on a continuous intake basis until March 31, 2027
The Green Freight Program will help fleets reduce their fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through fleet energy assessments, fleet retrofits, engine repowers, logistical best-practice implementation and the purchase of low carbon vehicles. Stream 1 of the Program is providing grant funding up to a maximum of $250,000 per Applicant towards Third-Party Fleet Energy Assessments and Truck/Trailer Equipment Retrofits. Natural Resources Canada has established a list of approved retrofit devices, of which a percentage of the cost will be eligible for a grant. This stream aims to increase the knowledge and capacity of the on-road freight transportation sector to adopt energy efficiency measures tailored to operational needs by providing financial support.
Canada Small Business Financing Program
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a continual basis
Changes have been made to the Canada Small Business Financing Program that cut red tape for small business and increase their access to financing. The changes include expanding financing eligibility to cover intangible assets, such as new product trademarks or software upgrades; increasing maximum loan amounts from $350,000 to $500,000; extending government coverage periods for equipment and leasehold improvements; and introducing a line of credit option of up to $150,000.
Affordable Housing Innovation Fund

The Affordable Housing Innovation Fund supports new ideas that will drive change and disrupt the industry – ideas and approaches that will evolve the affordable housing sector and create the next generation of housing in Canada. You can get funding for your innovations to:
Preservation Funding for community housing
Deadline : Applications are reviewed on a continual basis
The Preservation Funding for community housing is a financial assistance to help community housing providers complete preservation activities related to the sustainability of existing community housing projects. The maximum Preservation Funding available per project to complete eligible activities is $50,000.
Shelter Enhancement Program (SEP)
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a continual basis
The Shelter Enhancement Program (SEP) is funding to build and repair shelters and housing for people who are fleeing domestic violence. This program is open to all First Nations or First Nation housing organizations that operate housing for people fleeing domestic violence. For more information about this program, please contact your First Nation Housing Specialist.
Indigenous Shelter and Transitional Housing Initiative
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a continual basis until March 2024
The Indigenous Shelter and Transitional Housing Initiative supports the construction of a minimum of 38 shelters and 50 transitional homes across Canada. Indigenous organizations and governments across Canada are eligible to apply.
The Net-Zero Challenge for Businesses The government announced the launch of the Net-Zero Challenge, a new national voluntary initiative for businesses operating in Canada. Businesses that join the Challenge commit to developing and implementing credible and effective plans to transition their facilities and operations to net-zero emissions by 2050. Companies will benefit from technical guidance, best practices, a community of peer businesses and the opportunity to highlight their commitment to achieving net-zero emissions. The Net-Zero Challenge also includes various participation tiers to encourage ambition and track progress in net-zero planning.
The Canada Digital Adoption Program
Determined to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) realize their full potential by adopting digital technologies, the Government of Canada has launched the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP comprises two separate funding components:
National Housing Co-Investment Fund: Black-led Organizations
Earlier this year, the Government of Canada announced that up to $50 million would be dedicated to building housing for Black communities. Through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund: Black-led Organizations, up to 40% targeted funding for new affordable housing for Black households will be available. This program is designed to help Black-led organizations build housing and increase the supply of affordable housing for Black communities in Canada. The Fund prioritizes partnerships between Black-led organizations and other partners such as governments, non-profit organizations and other similar groups.
Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative

The Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative will provide $103.8 million over 5 years to assist First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and partners, both on and off reserve, to implement Indigenous-designed projects to improve community safety and well-being. Consultation on labour standards protections for interns

Sustainable Agriculture Strategy Consultation

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has announced the launch of consultations to help guide the development of a Sustainable Agriculture Strategy (SAS). A Strategy will provide an integrated and coordinated approach to address agri-environmental issues in the sector. By identifying goals and actions, Canada's agriculture sector will be better equipped to recover quickly from extreme events, thrive in a changing climate, and ensure a steady food supply.The Government of Canada is consulting with stakeholders and partners across the country to develop a SAS that will build on work already being done to improve the sector's environmental performance through a coordinated vision. As part of consultations on a Sustainable Agriculture Sector, a Sustainable Agriculture Strategy: Discussion Document is now available for comment. This document examines the current state of agriculture and environment in Canada and provides a starting point for discussions on how a SAS may further advance environmental goals in Canada's agriculture sector. Next Agricultural Policy Framework
Deadline: Sunday, December 31, 2023
The Next Policy Framework (NPF) is a five-year (2023–2028) investment by federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) governments to strengthen and grow Canada's agriculture and agri-food sector. It will replace the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), which ends March 31, 2023. The government wants to consult Canadians, including stakeholders such as producers, processors, Indigenous communities, women in agriculture, youth, environmental organizations, and small and emerging sectors to develop the Framework. Initial consultations on the NPF will seek stakeholder feedback on both current and potential challenges and opportunities facing the sector and on prospective priorities and vision for the NPF.

National recruitment campaign for parliamentary guides – summer 2023

The Library of Parliament has launched a national campaign to recruit parliamentary tour guides for the summer of 2023. The Library is hiring university students (or college students with a university degree) from across Canada to provide guided tours of Parliament. Students can be from any program of study, at the undergraduate or graduate level, and must have oral proficiency in both official languages.
