Next deadline: Thursday, December 30, 2021

As a Canadian employer who continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible to apply for one of the two subsidies to cover part of your employee wages. The Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CRHP)  and the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) support wages you pay through different phases of your economic recovery. Each claim period, eligible employers can claim either CRHP or CEWS, whichever is higher. The CRHP offers subsidies to Canadian employers to support hiring new workers and increasing their workers’ hours.

 

Severe impacts claims process under Phoenix damages agreement with Public Service Alliance of Canada

The Government of Canada has launched a claims process to compensate current and former employees represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) who experienced severe personal or financial impacts as a result of issues with the Phoenix pay system. CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

Round 3, the Northern Access Round, of the Housing Supply Challenge

*The call for proposal will open in January 2022

Round 3 of the Housing Supply Challenge will open in January 2022. The government will invest up to $80M in funding for teams who put forward solutions that can improve Canada’s housing supply chain in northern and remote regions. Northern and remote areas see high costs to build and maintain housing due to high transportation costshigh investment riskslong timelines and limited access to resources and infrastructure.

 

Nation Rebuilding Program

Deadline: Friday, December 17, 2021

The Government of Canada opened an annual call for proposals to support the Nation rebuilding efforts of Indigenous groups in Canada. In Budget 2018, the government invested $100 million over five years to support the efforts of Indigenous groups in developing their own path to reconstituting their Nations. The Nation Rebuilding Program  is an important step forward on the path toward self-determination by supporting Indigenous groups in rebuilding their governance structures and capacity at the Nation level.

 

New Horizons for Seniors Program

Deadline: Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.

The Government of Canada launched the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP)  2021-2022 call for proposals for community-based projects across Canada. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $25,000. This Program supports projects that address the following objectives:

 

Competition to reuse materials from the Champlain Bridge Deadline : Friday, December 31, 2021

For this competition, interested individuals, organizations and groups are invited to submit a project to repurpose a selection of components from the original Champlain Bridge.

You have until December 31, 2021 to provide your SUBMISSION FORM and formally submit your project to reuse materials from the original Champlain Bridge.

National cost-sharing program for heritage places

Deadline: Friday, January 7, 2022, at 5:00 pm

The National cost-sharing program for heritage places  is open to owners and eligible lessees of national historic sites, heritage lighthouses and heritage railway stations. The Program continues to support the Parks Canada Agency's mandate of protecting and presenting places of national historic significance, and fostering the public's understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of these places in ways that ensure their commemorative integrity for present and future generations.

 

Community Resilience Fund

Deadline: Tuesday January 11, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST)

The Community Resilience Fund provides funding to organizations in support of their innovative programming and research initiatives to address radicalization to violence in Canada. Starting in 2022-23, approximately $6.5 million in funding will become available through the CRF. The CRF Call for Applications will focus on the following priorities:

 

Enabling Accessibility Funds - Early Learning and Child Care small projects component

Deadline: Friday, January 28, 2022 The government of Canada launched a call for proposals for the new Early Learning and Child Care small projects component under the Enabling Accessibility Funds. This stream will provide up to $25 million, over two years, to improve the accessibility and safety of approximately 350 regulated and/or licensed early learning and child centres across the country. The goal of this funding is to support persons with disabilities, including children, parents or guardians, and early childhood educators with disabilities and to ensure that all families across Canada have access to high-quality, affordable, and inclusive early learning and child care, no matter where they live. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $70,000 for:

Canada’s Volunteer Awards 2021 Deadline : Friday, March 4, 2022 Now is the time to nominate an outstanding individual, a not-for-profit organization, a social enterprise or a socially responsible business who has made a significant contribution in improving the lives of others in their community through volunteering. Help them get the recognition they deserve. 

Canada’s Volunteer Awards is a federal recognition program under the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada. In total, twenty-one awards will be presented, including one national award, the Thérèse Casgrain Lifelong Achievement award. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional achievements through volunteering for at least 20 years. The 20 regional awards are distributed in the following four categories across five regions:

Black Entrepreneurship Program Deadline : N/A

The Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund will provide loans up to $250,000 to Black business owners and entrepreneurs across the country. The Government of Canada has announced that the Loan Fund is accepting loan applications from Black business owners and entrepreneurs through the Federation of African Canadian Economics (FACE). Website

 

Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative

Deadline: Available as long as funds are available

The Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative  is a two-year, $200-million national fund to help major Canadian festivals survive and adapt to the pandemic. It will also help position them for post-pandemic economic recovery and growth.

Youth Employment and Skills Program Deadline : Available as long as funds are available The Youth Employment and Skills Program provides a wage subsidy to employers who hire youth for agricultural jobs. The program offers support for 50% of wages to a maximum of $14,000. Eligible applicants include producers, agri-businesses, industry associations, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous organizations and research facilities. Indigenous Community Support Fund (needs-based support requests)

The request process for needs-based support recently reopened and Indigenous communities and organizations can request funding now. This Fund provides Indigenous leadership and organizations with the flexibility needed to design and implement community-based solutions to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous Community Support Fund (sac-isc.gc.ca)

 

Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program

Deadline : Available as long as funds are available

This program is a $964-million program which aims to support smart renewable energy and grid modernization projects that will lower emissions by investing in clean energy technologies, like wind, solar, storage, hydro, geothermal and tidal. Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program (nrcan.gc.ca)

Agricultural Clean Technology Program

Deadline: Available as long as funds are available

This new program provides farmers and agri-businesses with access to funding to help develop and adopt the latest clean technologies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhance their competitiveness. The new program has two funding streams: the Research and Innovation Stream and the Adoption Stream.   Due to high demand, as of August 1, 2021 the Agricultural Clean Technology Program – Adoption Stream will continue to accept Project Summary Forms but only for funding activities starting as of April 1, 2022.

 

New ministerial initiative on agri-food action/prevention

Deadline: Multiple application periods are available

The federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Marie-Claude Bibeau, and the Quebec Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, André Lamontagne, announced the creation of the Ministerial Initiative on Agri-Food Action/Prevention (MIAAP) for the management of health and food risks, which will remain in effect until March 1, 2023. This initiative aims to help organizations and businesses in Quebec’s agri-food sector to adopt good health and food risk management and control practices.

Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program

Deadline: Available as long as funds are available

The Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, launched the renewed Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program (FACTAP), with an investment of $10 million from Budget 2021 to extend the program for two more years. This program encourages Canadian fisheries and aquaculture industries to reduce the potential environmental impacts of their activities.

 

Tourism Relief Fund

Deadline: Available as long as funds are available

The Tourism Relief Fund is a $500-million national program that will help position Canada as a destination of choice when domestic and international travel is once again deemed safe, by empowering tourism businesses to create new or enhance existing tourism experiences and products to attract more local and domestic visitors and helping the sector reposition itself to welcome international visitors, by providing the best Canadian tourism experiences we have to offer the world. Initiatives under this fund will help tourism businesses and organizations: adapt their operations to meet public health requirements, improve their products and services and position themselves for post-pandemic economic recovery.
