We wish to inform you of the following federal calls for proposals, consultations, and appointment opportunities that are currently open.

CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

 

The Canada Digital Adoption Program

Determined to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) realize their full potential by adopting digital technologies, the Government of Canada has launched the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP comprises two separate funding components:

 

Accessible Canada Contributions funding - Phase 1 Partnerships projects Deadline : Friday, March 25, 2022, at 5pm

As part of the Accessible Canada Initiative, the Government of Canada has launched a call for proposals to award grants to projects taking action to remove existing barriers to accessibility and inclusion and prevent future barriers from emerging. The objective is to provide contribution funding to projects aiming to increase capacity and enhance leadership within the disability stakeholder community, and foster multi-sectoral and diverse partnerships to support innovation in accessibility.

Low Carbon Economy Challenge

Deadline : Friday, March 25, 2022, at 8pm

The Government of Canada has launched the second round of applications for a $200 million fund for climate change initiatives under the Champions Component of its Low Carbon Economy Fund. Expressions of interest are now being accepted for this second round of applications to the Champions Component. Applicants may request funding between $1 million and $25 million for eligible project expenses, with cost-sharing ranging from 25% to 75% of total project costs, depending on the type of recipient.

 

Active Transportation Fund Deadline : Thursday, March 31, 2022

The Government of Canada is launching the first-ever Active Transportation Fund to provide $400 million over five years to encourage a modal shift from cars to active transportation in support of Canada's National Active Transportation Strategy. The Active Transportation Fund is open to eligible applicants who wish to contribute to the construction and expansion of trail networks, bike lanes, pedestrian trails and bridges, as well as support active transportation planning and stakeholder engagement activities. Sport Support Program - Community Sport for All Initiative Deadline : Monday, April 4, 2022 The Government of Canada launched the Community Sport for All Initiative, a component of the Sport Support Program. The initiative seeks to remove barriers and increase sport participation rates, particularly among Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQQIA+, low-income and newcomer communities. Canadian organizations with the capacity to reach equity-deserving groups in multiple provinces or territories are invited to submit a proposal.

Dementia Strategic Fund: Awareness raising initiatives phase 2 Deadline : Friday, April 8, 2022 at Noon

The Government of Canada invites eligible applicants to submit proposals for awareness raising initiatives through the Dementia Strategic Fund. This funding opportunity contributes to the implementation of Canada's national dementia strategy by supporting projects focused on one or more of the following themes: preventing dementia; reducing stigma; encouraging and enabling communities to become more dementia-inclusive. The Prime Minister’s Youth Council (PMYC) Deadline : Sunday, April 10, 2022

The Government of Canada has launched a recruitment campaign inviting Canadians aged 16 to 24, from every region, background and lived experience, to apply online for the Prime Minister’s Youth Council at canada.ca/youth-council. Council members provide non-partisan advice to guide federal ministers and government officials on a wide range of issues that matter to them and their peers, such as promoting equality and protecting rights; enhancing supports for mental health; fighting climate change; and supporting Indigenous communities. The PMYC may have up to 30 members in total. The Government of Canada launched a call for proposals for community-based commemoration activities for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2022. These initiatives will honour the children who never returned home, as well as Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. They will also offer opportunities for all Canadians to observe and commemorate this important day. Canadian Heritage will help support initiatives with funding up to a maximum of $10,000 per project.

Enhancing water and wastewater capacity building efforts in First Nations communities Deadline : Monday, April 25, 2022

The government of Canada launched a call for proposals for projects that address the retention, recruitment, and availability of water and wastewater operators working on reserve.

Canada Book Fund-Support for Booksellers

Deadline : Monday, April 25, 2022

The Government of Canada announced the launch of a new funding initiative to help Canadian booksellers increase their ability to sell books online, in order to strengthen the sustainability of their operations in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic. This new program will invest $32.1 million in bookstores over two years for expenses related to online book sales and to help these bookstores improve their online business models. Round 3, the Northern Access Round, of the Housing Supply Challenge

Deadline  : Thursday, June 23, 2022

Round 3 of the Housing Supply Challenge is now open. The government will invest up to $80M in funding for teams who put forward solutions that can improve Canada’s housing supply chain in northern and remote regions. Northern and remote areas see high costs to build and maintain housing due to high transportation costshigh investment riskslong timelines and limited access to resources and infrastructure. Deadline: Thursday, March 31, 2022 The Canada Revenue Agency wants to improve and expand the virtual tax clinics of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, to meet the needs of community organizations, volunteers, and Canadians. Luxury Tax Legislative Proposals Deadline : Monday, April 11, 2022 Our government announced a new step toward implementing the Luxury Tax that we proposed in Budget 2021 and reiterated in our 2021 platform. The Luxury Tax would apply on the sale of new luxury cars and aircraft with a retail price over $100,000, and new boats over $250,000, and would be calculated at the lesser of 20 per cent of the value above these price thresholds or 10 per cent of the full value of the luxury vehicle, aircraft or vessel. The Luxury Tax would come into effect on September 1, 2022. The draft legislative proposals, released on March 11, 2022, build on and replace the backgrounder that was released last August as part of the consultation on the proposed Luxury Tax. Canadians are invited to share their comments on the draft legislative proposals before April 11, 2022 by emailing [email protected]. For more information, please see the news release. Consultation on reducing methane emissions from Canada’s municipal solid waste landfills Deadline : Wednesday, April 13, 2022

The Government of Canada has committed to reducing its overall greenhouse gas emissions by 40-45% from 2005 levels and to reducing methane emissions by 30% as part of its commitment to the Global Methane Commitment. It is inviting Canadians to comment on a consultation document entitled Reducing Methane Emissions from Municipal Solid Waste Landfills in Canada.

Just Transition Through Sustainable Jobs initiative Deadline : Saturday, April 30, 2022

The Government of Canada announced the consultation launch for the Just Transition Through Sustainable Jobs initiative, which will support workers and communities in the transition to a cleaner future. The government is accepting written comments until April 30, 2022, at [email protected]. Following the conclusion of these consultations, a “What We Heard” report will be posted online to summarize the findings.

Co-developing distinctions-based Indigenous health legislation The Government of Canada, in collaboration with Aboriginal partners and the provinces and territories, is developing new distinctions-based Aboriginal health legislation to facilitate access to high quality, culturally appropriate health services.
