Laurier–Sainte-Marie Youth Council

Are you between 16 and 25 years old and looking for an enriching experience? Are you interested in public policy and want to get involved? Join our Laurier–Sainte-Marie Youth Council! Green and Inclusive Community Buildings

Deadline : On an ongoing basis for projects under $3 million; a second call for proposals will be launched for projects of more than $3 million

An investment of $1.5 billion over five years through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program will improve the condition and availability of community buildings. This program supports the renovation, repair, and modernization of existing public community buildings, as well as the construction of new public community buildings. Municipalities and NPOs are eligible for this program. To be considered eligible, the building must belong to the applicant and be used by citizens. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for projects under $3 million (small and medium-sized renovation projects) and a second call for proposals will be launched for projects of more than $3 million (major renovations), we will keep you updated. Infrastructure Canada - Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program

 

Age Well at Home initiative Deadline: Friday, July 29th 2022 at 3pm

The government has launched the Aging Well at Home initiative. This new federal grants and contributions program will help low-income and vulnerable seniors live independently and safely in the comfort of their own homes and communities for longer. Age Well at Home initiative consists of two streams:

- The In-Home Support Pilot Project stream, which funds eligible organizations that provide volunteer services to older adults. Eligible services include meal preparation or delivery, light yard work, snow removal and home visits. Organizations can receive up to $800,000 in funding.

- The Scaling Up for Seniors  stream, which provides funding to eligible organizations to help them expand the scope of their services that have proven to be effective in Canada. They can receive up to $2 million in funding.

Support Program for the Canadian Wine Sector

Deadline : Friday August 12th, 2022

 

The government of Canada announced details of a new two-year, up to $166-million Wine Sector Support Program. Eligible recipients are wine licensees that produce bulk wine in Canada for commercial sale using fermented primary agricultural products, such as grapes, berries, other fruit, dandelions, rice and sap. Support will be provided in the form of a grant, and individual payments will be dependent on the total litres of eligible wine submitted to the Program and individual applicants’ total eligible wine production. Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative 

Deadlines :  Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, and Friday, June 2, 2023

The federal government launched a call for proposals for the $450 million Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative to support investments in technology companies and life sciences and help women and racialized people access capital to grow their businesses.

  

Natural Infrastructure Fund (NIF) - Small Projects Stream Deadline : Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 3pm

The Government of Canada is accepting applications for new projects through the Small Projects Stream of the Natural Infrastructure Fund (NIF). The $200 million NIF supports building community awareness of the value of natural infrastructure. Municipalities, local governments, provinces or territories, public sector bodies, Indigenous organizations, not-for-profit, and for-profit organizations in partnership with other eligible applicants outside the private sector, can apply for up to one million dollars in federal funding to restore and enhance natural infrastructure like urban forests, street trees, wetlands, living dykes, bioswales, and naturalized coastal restoration. Enabling Accessibility Fund Youth Innovation Component Call for Proposals  Deadline : Monday, October 17, 2022 at 5pm 

The government of Canada launched a new call for proposals under the Enabling Accessibility Fund Youth Innovation component. Up to $1M is now available to fund approximately 100 youth-driven projects that will help address accessibility barriers in Canadian communities. Interested youth must submit their expressions of interest in being named a Youth Accessibility Leader (YAL) by October 17, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. EST online here. Eligible organizations must submit their funding application(s) in collaboration with the YAL by October 31, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

 

The Canada Digital Adoption Program

Determined to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) realize their full potential by adopting digital technologies, the Government of Canada has launched the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP comprises two separate funding components:

National Housing Co-Investment Fund: Black-led Organizations

Earlier this year, the Government of Canada announced that up to $50 million would be dedicated to building housing for Black communities.  Through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund: Black-led Organizations, up to 40% targeted funding for new affordable housing for Black households will be available. This program is designed to help Black-led organizations build housing and increase the supply of affordable housing for Black communities in Canada. The Fund prioritizes partnerships between Black-led organizations and other partners such as governments, non-profit organizations and other similar groups.

 

Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative 

There is no deadline for this funding

The Pathways to Safe Indigenous Communities Initiative will provide $103.8 million over 5 years to assist First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and partners, both on and off reserve, to implement Indigenous-designed projects to improve community safety and well-being. Help Us Build a Better EI Program - Phase 2

Deadline: Friday, July 29th 2022 

The second phase of consultations explores the adequacy of EI benefits, in particular by examining whether the amount and duration of EI benefits meet the objectives of the program and the needs of those contributing to EI. It also focuses on how to ensure the financial sustainability of the EI program by balancing costs with benefits and limiting the need for premium increases. Roundtable discussions will take place with worker and employer groups, and other EI experts, beginning in mid-May. All Canadians are welcome to provide feedback by visiting the Consulting with Canadians website New Federal Tourism Growth Strategy

Deadline: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022

The renewed Federal Tourism Growth Strategy will build on the work already done in 2019 and will focus in particular on challenges of:

- Labour shortages and instability;

- Destination development and the need to attract investment; and

- The evolving global, geopolitical and public health context.

2022 Cross-Canada Official Languages Consultation

Deadline: Wednesday, August 31st 2022

The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages, has a mandate to develop a new plan for official languages. This process will be informed by a consultation exercise running from May 24 to the end of August. The consultations target the general public, official language minority communities, advocacy organizations, provincial and territorial representatives, and federal institutions and organizations.

Responding to Oil Spills with Alternative Response Measures

Deadline : Friday, September 16, 2022

The federal government is considering legal changes to enable the safe and appropriate use of alternative response measures to address oil spills in Canada, regardless of the spill source. We want your feedback on the potential changes. 

Solicit input and inform a National Agricultural Labour Strategy  Deadline: September 28, 2022

The Government of Canada is launching a consultation to solicit input and inform the National Agricultural Labour Strategy. This sector-specific strategy will look to address the long-standing and widespread labour shortages in farming and food processing across Canada. Understanding the sector’s challenges vary across the country, the strategy will help to provide a roadmap for advancing short and long-term solutions to ensure a skilled and reliable workforce to build resilience in the food supply chain while helping to grow the sector. From June 27 to September 28, 2022, we are seeking input from employers, labour, under-represented groups, workers and other key groups to develop the strategy and ensure it reflects unique needs. Development of rules to strengthen the recycling and composting of plastics through accurate labelling Deadline : Friday, October 7, 2022 The Government of Canada is seeking feedback on the development of labelling rules to improve the accuracy of recyclability and compostability information found on plastic packaging and single-use items. Development of a proposed federal plastics registry for producers of plastic products Deadline : Friday, October 7, 2022 The Government of Canada has committed to supporting provincial and territorial extended producer responsibility (EPR) efforts by establishing a federal plastics registry that will require producers to report on plastics they place on the Canadian economy.  https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/managing-reducing-waste/consultations/consultation-registry.html

 

Co-developing distinctions-based Indigenous health legislation

The Government of Canada, in collaboration with Indigenous partners and the provinces and territories, is developing new distinctions-based Indigenous health legislation to facilitate access to high quality, culturally appropriate health services. Co-Development of First Nations Police Services Legislation Deadline : Will close to new input later in Spring 2022

The Government of Canada is working on improving policing and community safety services that address the specific needs of First Nations Peoples.
