Consultations on the Canada Green Building Strategy

Deadline: Friday, September 16, 2022

The government officially launched consultations on the Canada Green Building Strategy, which we committed to in the Emissions Reduction Plan. There are over 16 million dwellings and 482,000 commercial and public buildings in Canada, and together, they account for 13% of Canada’s direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This makes the built environment Canada’s third-highest source of emissions. At the same time, extreme weather and climate change impacts are affecting our buildings. Because of this, we need to retrofit our existing buildings to reduce GHG emissions and increase their climate resilience – in an affordable way. We also need to ensure that new buildings are resilient and compatible with a net-zero world on day one.

Consultation on the Federal Electoral Districts Redistribution 2022

Deadline : As soon as possible and until Thursday October 13, 2022

The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Quebec has published its proposal for revising the electoral map. The goal of redistributing the electoral map is to ensure that all citizens have the same political influence following the 2021 Census. After examining the current electoral map (drawn 10 years ago), the Commission has proposed to leave the boundaries of 17 electoral districts intact. Gaspésie will lose a member of Parliament (the Avignon—La Mitis—Matane—Matapédia seat) and a new electoral district will be created north of Montréal, in the Laurentian Mountains (Les Pays d'en Haut). The boundaries of 60 other electoral districts will be modified to varying degrees in order to bring their population counts closer to the electoral quotient of 108,998. For Laurier-Sainte—Marie, a portion of the Sainte-Marie neighborhood, in the eastern part of the riding – east of Frontenac St and south of Hochelaga St – would be removed from Laurier—Sainte-Marie and added to the federal riding of Hochelaga. The remaining territory of Laurier—Sainte-Marie would remain the same. To see the interactive map : https://redecoupage-redistribution-2022.ca/ebv/en/?locale=en-ca&prov=qc

You can send your notice of representation to the Commission Secretary by:
