CALLS FOR PROPOSALS
New Horizons for Seniors Program
Deadline: Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 3pm for the community-based grant / Friday, October 18, 2024 for the pan-Canadian stream
Organizations can apply for the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) Community-Based grant. The NHSP is a federal grant that supports community-based projects designed by seniors for seniors. Further program information and eligibility criteria can be found at the link the NHSP funding Page.
The pan-Canadian stream aims to fund projects in the form of collective impact plans that will measurably increase the social inclusion of vulnerable seniors.
The Co-operative Housing Development Program (CHDP)
Deadline: Sunday, September 15, 2024
The CHDP Program was co-designed with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada and other leaders in the co-op sector and will provide loans and contributions to build and grow co-ops across Canada. This $1.5 billion program is the largest investment in co-op housing in 30 years and will help create a new generation of co-operative housing across Canada. This includes approximately $500 million in contributions and $1 billion in loans to help build, and grow, co-ops across Canada.
Youth Forums Canada – Exchanges Program

Youth Forums Canada is a component of the Exchanges Canada Program. It funds organizations in Canada to hold workshops and conferences for youth generally aged 14 to 25 across Canada. These events focus on themes like institutions, history, official languages, sports or the arts in Canada.

Funding would be available through the Indigenous Justice Program (IJP), which provides grants and contribution funding to programs and projects in support of the following objectives: to assist Indigenous people in assuming greater responsibility for the administration of justice in their communities; to reflect and include Indigenous values within the justice system.

AgriStability

AgriStability is one of the Business Risk Management programs under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP). AgriStability protects Canadian producers against large declines in farming income for reasons such as production loss, increased costs and market conditions.
AgriStability is a margin based program designed to help producers manage large income declines.
Each year, you must enroll in the program, pay your fee and submit a form by the applicable deadlines.

Canada Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program

Through the Canadian Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program, the Government of Canada assumes the financial risk for loss and damage to objects and appurtenances on loan for eligible travelling exhibitions in Canadian museums, art galleries or other cultural institutions. Tenant Protection Fund

The Justice Partnership and Innovation Program (JPIP) is launching an anticipatory Call for Proposals to fill gaps in legal services, supports, and information for tenants across Canada. This anticipatory Call for Proposals aims to support increased access to justice for tenants through resources, advice, and information. These resources will further reduce barriers to justice and will support tenants in navigating and overcoming tenant legal matters.
Enabling Accessibility Fund - Youth Innovation Component
Deadline: Friday, October 4, 2024 at 3pm
Through this call for proposals, Canadian youth between the ages of 15 to 30, are encouraged to become youth accessibility leaders (YALs). The role of a YAL allows for youth to identify accessibility barriers within their communities, and then partner with a local organization on an accessibility project to secure up to $12,000 in funding to help address barriers in community spaces and workplaces and create a more inclusive environment for all. Interested youth must submit their expressions of interest in being designated a youth accessibility leader (YAL) by October 4, 2024 at 3 p.m. EDT. School Food Infrastructure Fund (SFIF)

Through the further distribution of funds by a limited number of not-for-profit organizations to approved community-based organizations, the SFIF will support the purchase and installation of infrastructure and equipment that increases the capacity of community organizations to produce, process, store, and distribute food for school food programs
Fund for Indigenous victims of Crime Initiative
Deadline: Friday, October 4, 2024
The Victims Fund, a component of the FVS, provides grants and contributions to support projects and activities that encourage the development of new approaches, promote access to justice, improve the capacity of service providers, foster the establishment of referral networks, and/or increase awareness of services available to victims of crime and their families. Through Budget 2023, the Government of Canada provided $8 million annually on an ongoing basis to enhance the availability and accessibility of services and supports for Indigenous victims and survivors of crime.
Building Communities through Arts and Heritage - Local festivals
Deadlines: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 for festivals starting between 1 July and 31 August of the next calendar year
The Local Festivals component of the Building Communities through Arts and Heritage program provides funding to local groups for recurring festivals that present the work of local artists; local artisans; local heritage performers or specialists; and local First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultural carriers. This includes the celebration of LGBTQ2+ communities and Indigenous cultural celebrations.
Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program
Deadline: Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 3pm
The Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program is launching its third intake.
- Small and medium retrofits : Eligible applicants with small and medium-sized projects to retrofit existing community buildings ranging in total eligible cost from $100,000 to $2,999,999 can apply from August 1, 2024 until October 16, 2024, 15:00 ET.
- Large retrofits and new builds : Eligible applicants with large projects to retrofit existing community buildings or projects to build new community buildings with total eligible costs ranging from $3 million to $25 million can apply from September 4, 2024 until October 16, 2024, 15:00 ET.
Upcoming : Local Food Infrastructure Fund – Small Scale Projects
Deadline : Projects will be accepted from October 1st to 31st, 2024
The LFIF aims to support locally-driven projects that will help improve community food security through the purchase and installation of infrastructure/equipment that will increase access to local, nutritious and culturally appropriate food. Priority will be given to projects that predominantly serve equity-deserving groups, particularly those that are led by or focus on Indigenous and Black communities.

The Museums Assistance Program (MAP) supports heritage institutions and workers in the preservation and presentation of heritage collections. The program fosters the preservation of Indigenous culture and facilitates access to heritage collections for all Canadians. It also promotes professional knowledge, skills and practices related to key museum functions. The MAP provides funding to Canadian museums and related institutions through several components, and each has its own eligibility criteria.
The Residential Schools Missing Children Community Support Fund
Deadline: Friday, November 15, 2024, and for the next fiscal year, Monday, September 15, 2025
The Residential Schools Missing Children Community Support Fund was established in 2022 to empower Indigenous communities and Survivors to lead the efforts in identifying children who did not return home from residential schools and locating burial sites linked to former residential schools. An independent, national, toll-free helpline is available to anyone who needs help. This line is accessible free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 1-844-413-6649.
Canada Cultural Investment Fund

Deadline for Limited Support to Endangered Arts Organizations: Applications are accepted at any time throughout the year.
The Canada Cultural Investment Fund encourages private sector investment, partnership and sound business practices to help arts and heritage organizations be better rooted and recognized in their communities. The Canada Cultural Investment Fund provides support through three components: The Strategic Initiatives component provides financial assistance for projects involving multiple partners that will help arts and heritage organizations improve their business practices and diversify their revenues. The Endowment Incentives component encourages arts organizations to build new revenue streams. Canadians are encouraged to support the arts by providing donations to professional arts organization's endowment fund. The government provides a funding incentive for these donations. The Limited Support to Endangered Arts Organizations component supports those rare instances where a professional arts organization faces the prospect of closure but there is a high degree of support for its continuation and a viable business/restructuring plan. Assistance through this component can enable an arts organization to restructure, so it can continue to contribute to the community it is serving.
Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund - Indigenous Grants Program

The Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund (CMIF) will provide up to $1.5 billion in federal funding over seven years for clean energy and transportation infrastructure projects necessary to enable the sustainable development and expansion of critical minerals in Canada. The CMIF currently offers grants to support Indigenous engagement, participation and capacity building related to infrastructure projects that would enable critical minerals development.
Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI) - Indigenous-led projects pilot
Deadline: Monday, March 31, 2025
The Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVEI) supports projects that aim to increase awareness, knowledge and public confidence in zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) and public charging and refueling infrastructure. The ZEVAI helps fund outreach, education, and capacity-building activities, ultimately enabling greater adoption of ZEVs by Canadians in all regions of the country. The Ingidenous-led projects pilot program supports Indigenous-led projects that aim to address awareness and knowledge gaps related to all types of ZEVs, lower-carbon medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, and clean fuels, such as clean hydrogen and biofuels.
Tourism Growth Program

The Tourism Growth Program is now open in Quebec, with a budget of $21.1 million. SMEs, NPOs and social economy enterprises active in the tourism industry can now apply to the program through Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED). CED’s support focuses on increasing the capacity of local tourist attractions to enhance their potential to attract visitors from outside Quebec by supporting the development of tourism products and experiences, in particular in rural and remote regions.
Green Freight Program - Stream 1 Assess and Retrofit
Deadline: Applications will be accepted on a continuous intake basis until March 31, 2027
The Green Freight Program will help fleets reduce their fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through fleet energy assessments, fleet retrofits, engine repowers, logistical best-practice implementation and the purchase of low carbon vehicles. Stream 1 of the Program is providing grant funding up to a maximum of $250,000 per Applicant towards Third-Party Fleet Energy Assessments and Truck/Trailer Equipment Retrofits. Natural Resources Canada has established a list of approved retrofit devices, of which a percentage of the cost will be eligible for a grant. This stream aims to increase the knowledge and capacity of the on-road freight transportation sector to adopt energy efficiency measures tailored to operational needs by providing financial support.
The Low Carbon Economy Fund - Indigenous Leadership Fund

The Low Carbon Economy Fund (LCEF) supports projects to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, generate clean growth, build resilient communities, and create good jobs for Canadians. The Indigenous Leadership Fund is a new program under the Low Carbon Economy Fund to support climate action by Indigenous peoples. The program will fund Indigenous-owned and led renewable energy, energy efficiency, and low-carbon heating projects. Recognizing the unique rights, interests, and circumstances of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis governments, communities, and organizations, the Indigenous Leadership Fund will use a distinctions-based approach to deliver funding to support projects that are Indigenous-owned and led, advance Indigenous climate leadership and support the self-determined climate, social, and economic priorities of Indigenous peoples. Canada Arts Presentation Fund

Local Journalism Initiative

Canada Cultural Spaces Fund (CCSF)

The CCSF supports the improvement of physical conditions for arts, heritage culture and creative innovation. The CCSF supports renovation projects, the acquisition of specialized equipment, and planning, design and feasibility studies related to arts and heritage cultural spaces.
Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program

The Events component of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (MARP) provides funding to community-based events that: promote intercultural or interfaith understanding; promote discussions on multiculturalism, diversity, racism and religious discrimination; celebrate a community’s history and culture such as heritage months recognized by Parliament.
Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI)

REGI is a national funding program. It supports the economic growth of businesses and regions through innovation. In Quebec, it is delivered by CED, which takes into account the needs of each region.

Public consultations on Canada’s approach to partnerships in Africa

Consultation on the proposed scope of an Emergency Order to protect boreal caribou in the province of Quebec

The federal government put in place an emergency order to protect the habitat of the three most at-risk boreal caribou populations in Quebec: Val-d’Or, Charlevoix and Pipmuacan. These consultations are intended to give the various parties involved the opportunity to participate, while respecting the urgent nature of the situation. These consultations are also an opportunity for the Government of Quebec to present a comprehensive strategy to protect the boreal caribou.
Consultation on a proposal for a tobacco cost recovery framework

Health Canada is seeking comments from interested parties on a proposal for a tobacco cost recovery framework that would introduce an annual charge applied to designated tobacco product manufacturers (including importers). This proposed charge would be a variable annual charge based on a manufacturer's tobacco product domestic market share. Fees or charges for vaping product manufacturers would not be included at this time.
Consulting Canadians on the operation of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA)

Odyssey – Language Assistant Program
Deadline: Open for applications
Odyssey is a bilingual, paid work experience that provides opportunities for postsecondary students to travel to another province. English-speaking candidates can work in English in Quebec or New Brunswick, while French-speaking candidates can work in French in a province or territory other than their own. Participants work 25 hours per week and receive a taxable salary of $27,000 for a nine-month work term.

The Exchanges Canada Program helps youth to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the country, while connecting with other youth in Canada. Youth Exchanges Canada supports a number of Canadian organizations in offering reciprocal exchanges for individual youth or groups of youth, generally between the ages of 12 and 17. Youth from different parts of the country are paired according to their ages and interests, then each participant takes a turn hosting their “twin” in their home.
